Folly – These Foolish Things
£55.00
The parties, the music and the ‘other-world’ of the eccentric Lord Berners of the 1930’s is captured in this unique image of Faringdon Folly. These Foolish Things was written in the same period, and seemed appropriate for this piece of fantasy.
“I live near to this amazing tower that I see as a wonderful tribute to Lord Berners’ sense of silliness! There are odd pieces in the woodland surrounding the tower including a giraffe up a tree, a giant hare, a fairly useless bridge and a piano. Had to do something to celebrate it all!”
Each purchase of a print generates a donation to the work of Friends of the Folly and the Faringdon Folly Tower Trust www.faringdonfolly.org.uk
On 5 November 1935, Lord Berners gifted his tower and this event is celebrated in another Faringdon Folly image ‘Remember, Remember‘. There are also dragons…
