Lord Berners built the Farringdon Folly in the spirit of frivolity and fun – what could be more fitting than pink fireworks to remember 5th of November, 1935 when he gifted the tower to Robert Heber-Percy… “I live near to this creation of Lord Berners and think it, having been been built for no real purpose (other than to tease his neighbours), a great reminder of his sense of silliness!”.
